This heat pump and solar battery integration came about after our customer in Busselton had removed his gas hot water which was draining the gas bottles.
He wanted to make use of his solar battery system as a more energy efficient and economical option.
If solar or battery solar systems are used at a property, then a heat pump will work in conjunction with these systems. They will run on a timer, which only allows the unit to run during the day when the sun is feeding the grid.
A heat pump system converts environmental energy into heat for your home. First, the heat in the ground or outdoor air is transferred to a refrigerant via a heat exchanger (evaporator). With help from a compressor, the refrigerant boosts this energy to a higher temperature level, making it suitable, via another heat exchanger (condenser), for heating your home or your domestic hot water system.
